Online Fourth Grade in Utah
Explore Online School for Utah Fourth Grade Students
Students are really starting to come into their own in the fourth grade. They’re discovering their favorite subjects and where they excel and feel confident. But some may hold back from asking questions in class to avoid looking less intelligent than their friends, while others may not participate for fear of appearing too smart. But fourth grade at Utah’s K12-powered online school is different. Thanks to the support of state-licensed teachers and the quality online curriculum students access from home, fourth graders can benefit from meaningful learning experiences without a lot of distracting social pressure.
The K12-Powered Online Schooling Difference
What sets apart the K12-powered online school in Utah is their personalized approach to learning. Each student’s education journey is designed with their unique goals, strengths, and challenges in mind. K12’s personalized learning program includes:
- An Individualized Learning Plan for each student that addresses their strengths and weaknesses
- State-licensed teachers who guide progress and tailor teaching to students’ needs
- Highly interactive online curriculum that enriches and inspires
- Field trips, extracurricular activities, and clubs that provide fun social opportunities
How Online School Powered by K12 Works
Fourth grade at Utah’s online school powered by K12 begins with an effective, caring team. State-licensed teachers instruct students in online, real-time class sessions. Students and parents have open lines of communication with teachers who answer questions and help keep track of your student’s academic progress. School counselors provide support, and the Learning Coach—a parent or other responsible adult—helps their student stay on schedule, records daily attendance, and communicates with teachers. Students learn from K12’s highly interactive curriculum, do daily coursework, and attend virtual classes through the online school platform. And like any school, students have opportunities to connect through in-person and online events, activities, and clubs.

Curriculum Highlights
An important part of every student’s education is K12’s online curriculum covering core subjects as well as art, music, and world languages. Hands-on education materials† complement the online lessons. For example, in science, students study rocks and minerals as well as electricity and magnetism. Hands-on activities include identifying minerals according to their properties and constructing an electromagnet. The Grade 4 curriculum also concludes a special series where the history courses integrate with students’ art lessons. In history, students learn about Thomas Jefferson and in art they study the architecture of Monticello.
