Online Third Grade in Utah
Third Grade for Utah Students
Watch them go! Students make great learning strides from second to third grade. They no longer just practice basic skills, they start mastering them. At this important stage in a student’s development, the mastery-based online curriculum for third graders in Utah’s K12-powered online school helps to make the most of students’ natural abilities—and it can do the same for your child.
Benefits of Personalized Learning
Mastery-based curriculum for third graders in Utah is just one of the many benefits of tuition-free* K12-powered online schooling. Unlike a traditional brick-and-mortar school, Utah’s online school powered by K12 gives students and families a more personalized education experience. A team of state-licensed instructors, counselors, and staff provide support and guidance for each student, and teachers work with families to develop Individualized Learning Plans tailored to each student’s unique strengths and weaknesses.
Students attend live, online teacher-led class sessions. Because these sessions are conveniently taken online, your student’s classroom is located wherever the internet is available. Students also receive daily support from their Learning Coach, usually a parent or other responsible adult. The Learning Coach takes an active role (especially in the early grades) helping their student stay on track with assignments and coursework and recording daily attendance.

Engaging Online Coursework
In addition to regularly scheduled virtual classes, your child’s day-to-day learning is supported by K12’s engaging online coursework, which includes hands-on activities using education materials sent to your door.† Third graders in Utah study English, math, science, and history, plus art and music. Starting in grade 3, world languages are also available.††
Online coursework for grades K–5 is mastery-based, which lets your child learn at their own pace. The interactive online lessons are followed by targeted assessments so you can be sure your child has mastered a particular concept before moving on in their lessons. The assessments also help our state-licensed teachers keep track of your child’s progress and focus on how they can make their online class instruction most effective.
